About the owners
Color and Sound, Incorporated is family owned and operated by John A. and Yukiko Gorbett. John began his electronics career in the navy in aircraft communication maintenance. Through his travels, he was stationed in Okinawa, where he met and later married his wife, Yukiko. He later was stationed in Virginia Beach, where they settled and John went to Old Dominion University for Business Administration. He later worked for the VA Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, as well as Audio Venture and Lee Hall TV. He then decided to open his own electronics service center, now known as Color and Sound, Incorporated.

Their daughter, April, has been with the company since 1988. She has worked through the ranks as the customer service representative, parts clerk, warranty administrator to the Office Manager and has become an integral part of Color and Sound. April is the Past President of the VPEA of Tidewater and has serviced as Vice President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VPEA.

Our Service Manager, Ricky, has worked for Color and Sound since 1997 as an audio, VCR and camcorder technician. Since then he has also become our surround sound system technician. Through the years he has become one of the family.

Together, with our technicians and customer service representatives, we have been providing high quality electronic service to the Peninsula. We are committed to total customer satisfaction.
